SAN JOSE BARRACUDA PLAYERS AND STAFF PARTNER WITH CONVOY OF HOPE TO PROVIDE 1,000 BAGS OF GROCERIES TO THOSE IN NEED IN SANTA CLARA COUNTY
Mar 13, 2025San Jose, CA – The San Jose Barracuda (@SJBarracuda), the AHL (@TheAHL) affiliate of the San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks), along with their charitable arm Barracuda: Beyond the Reef, partnered with Convoy of Hope (@ConvoyofHope) to make a meaningful impact in Santa Clara County by providing groceries to families facing food insecurity.
This week, the Barracuda players and staff teamed up with @ConvoyofHope to build and pass out over 1,000 bags of groceries to families in need.

The event, held at Tech CU Arena, saw Barracuda players, coaches, front office staff, and dedicated volunteers come together to distribute over 1,000 bags of essential food items to families in need. Recipients were pre-registered through local community organizations, ensuring that aid reached those most affected by economic hardships.
"We are really proud to be able to assist our community through the help of Convoy of Hope," said James Collins, VP of Business Operations for the Barracuda. "It’s incredible to see so many people come together to make a difference, and we look forward to hosting more initiatives like this in the future."
During the event, families received not perishable breakfast and snack items.
Convoy of Hope, a faith-based nonprofit, specializes in providing disaster relief, food security programs, and humanitarian services to underserved communities. The organization has a history of working with professional sports teams, including the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers, to expand their reach and positively impact lives.
The food distribution event ran from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 12, and marked the first of several planned outreach efforts between the Barracuda and Convoy of Hope.
