SAN JOSE, CA - San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has acquired a 2017 second (49th overall) and fourth (123rd overall) round draft selection from the New Jersey Devils in exchange for defenseman Mirco Mueller and a 2017 fifth round (143rd overall) draft selection.
The Sharks now have eight selections in the 2017 NHL Draft; 1st round (19th), second round (49th), fourth round (123rd), sixth round (159th, 174th) and seventh (205th, 212th, 214th).
"We want to thank Mirco for his years of service to the San Jose Sharks and the San Jose Barracuda organizations," said Wilson. "This will be an excellent opportunity for Mirco to continue his development and with our organization's depth on the blueline, an opportunity for us to acquire assets for the future. We wish him the best."
Mueller played in 54 NHL games with San Jose from 2014-2017, posting six points (two goals, four assists) and 17 penalty minutes. He was originally drafted in the first round (18th overall) in the 2013 NHL Draft.
