Sharks Sign Defenseman Dan Kelly
Jul 14, 2016SAN JOSE - San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has signed defenseman Dan Kelly to a one-year contract.
Kelly, 27, registered 15 points (4 goals, 11 assists), 93 penalty minutes and a plus-8 rating in 55 games with the Albany Devils last season. He also notched one goal, two assists and a team-high plus-4 rating in eight Calder Cup playoff games.
The defenseman has collected 64 points (14 goals, 50 assists) and a plus-44 rating in 352 career AHL games with Albany. In addition, Kelly posted 82 points (11 goals, 71 assists) in 235 career OHL games with the Kitchener Rangers and played under current Sharks Head Coach Peter DeBoer and Assistant Coach Steve Spott as the Rangers won the OHL Championship in 2008.
The six-foot-one, 185-pound native of Morrisonville, New York, was originally signed as a free agent by New Jersey on May 19, 2010.
