SLOW START PLAGUES BARRACUDA IN 6-3 LOSS TO REIGN
Mar 30, 2022San Jose, CA – The San Jose Barracuda (20-34-2-2) gave up three goals in the first period on Wednesday morning and couldn’t mount a comeback, falling to the Ontario Reign (36-14-4-3), 6-3. After the loss the Barracuda have now dropped its last five in a row.
- Jasper Weatherby scored his fourth goal of the season, and also added his ninth assist. The rookie has five points (1+4=5) in his last three games.
- Evan Weinger got both his 12th helper and 12th goal of the season and has points in two of his last three games (2+1=3). Weinger has now set new single-season career-highs in goals, assists, and points.
- Joachim Blichfeld (22) scored his 11th power-play goal of the year, tying the franchise record for power-play goals in a season which was set during the 2016-17 campaign by Danny O’Regan. The goal was also the 50th of his career.
- Jayden Halbgewachs (20) added his 10th power-play assist of the season.
- Artemi Kniazev notched his 15th assist. In 50 games played, the rookie has five goals and 15 assists for 20 points.
- Adam Raska added his eighth assist and has points in two of his last three games (1+2=3).
