Barracuda set to embark on five-game road trip

Weekly rewind…

After a disappointing 6-5 loss to the San Antonio Rampage on Saturday afternoon, in which the Barracuda put a franchise record 46 shots on net, San Jose responded in game two against the Rampage on Sunday with a 3-1 victory. The win came as a result of renewed defensive commitment and timely saves. Mantas Armalis turned in his best game as a Barracuda making 25 saves including two breakaway denials in the victory. San Jose went 2-1-0-1 during the four-game home stand.

A look ahead…

After four games at SAP Center, the Barracuda will play their next five on the road including three in Texas. San Jose will make its first of two trips to the Lone Star State as they take on the Texas Stars (Dallas Stars) for two games on Friday, November 8 and Saturday, November 9 at H-E-B Center in Cedar Park, TX. San Jose will then play one game in San Antonio (Colorado Avalanche) on Tuesday, November 15 at 8:30 a.m. PST at AT&T Center. The trip will wrap up in San Diego (Anaheim Ducks) on Friday, November 18 and Saturday, November 19 at Valley View Casino Center. Through the early season, San Jose is 1-1-0-0 away from San Jose. In 2015-16, the Barracuda were 13-13-6-2 on the road, 1-2-0-0 at Texas, 1-1-1-0 at San Antonio and 3-2-1-0 at San Diego.

Broadcaster bites…

With the recall of Kevin Labanc to the San Jose Sharks, the Barracuda will be forced to shuffle its top line that featured Labanc, Nikolay Goldobin, and Rourke Chartier. The group had combined for 24 points (9-15-24) in their last four games. With Timo Meier still rounding into form, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Barracuda looked to put the Sharks ’14 and ’15 first round selections together. Combining Goldobin’s tremendous passing ability with Meier’s physical play and offensive skill set, the Barracuda could pick right where they left off when Labanc was in the lineup.
