Tonight:
The San Jose Barracuda and the Stockton Heat (AHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames) meet for the 3rd of 12 meetings this season, the 1st of six meetings at the SAP Center.  The Barracuda are 1-0-0-1 vs. the Heat this season and are 1-0-0-1 in two career matchups. The Barracuda are 1-1-0-0 on their current five game home stand and have a 2-5-0-1 record overall at the SAP Center this season.  The Heat have points in five of their last seven games (4-2-0-1) and will make their first visit to the SAP Center this evening.  Former Shark Freddie Hamilton leads the Heat with 11 points (5-6-11) in 15 games this season.

In case you missed it…
The San Jose Barracuda (7-8-0-3, 17pts) presented by Barracuda Networks fell short 3-2 to the visiting Texas Stars (12-8-0-1, 25pts) in front of 3,056 fans at the SAP Center on Sunday afternoon. Trevor Parkes (1-0-1) and Gus Young (1-0-1) scored the Barracudas while Troy Grosenick (4-4-2) saved 25 of the 28 shots he faced in the loss.  Both teams had one penalty shot in the 1st period that were both saved by the goaltenders.  Curtis McKenzie (1-0-1), Radek Faksa (1-0-1) and Brendan Ranford (1-0-1) scored for the Stars while John Muse (5-1-1) made 33 save on 35 shots for the win as the Stars earned a spilt in the two game weekend set.

The Heat picked up a 3-2 win in Bakersfield on Nov 28 as Joni Ortio made 30 saves in net for the victory. Turner Elson, Blair Riley, and Jakub Nakladal all scored for the Heat while Drew Shore picked up two assists for Stockton.

*Recent transactions…defenseman Dylan Demelo and forward Micheal Haley were recalled by the SJ Sharks yesterday afternoon as the Sharks play the Ducks in Anaheim tonight. Mirco Mueller is expected to be in the lineup tonight for the Barracuda, his first AHL game since Nov 8 vs. Bakersfield.

*2 Penalty Shots, 1 period…referee Garrett Rank awarded two penalty shots in the 1st period of the Barracuda’s 3-2 loss to the Stars on Nov 29. Troy Grosenick stopped Curtis MacKenzie at 10:52 while John Muse stopped Jeremy Langlois at 14:53.
