Two minutes later Ryan Carpenter (2nd) lit the lamp on the power play for the Barracuda after burying a rebound off of a slap shot from the left circle.

At 10:17 gloves and pads went flying as Gus Young (2nd FM) and Turner Elson (2nd FM) decided to engage in fisticuffs with the players eventually being separated.  Two minutes later Bryan Lerg (1st FM) took offense to Garnet Hathaway’s (1st FM) play and initiated the second fight of the game with both players wrestling each other to the ice.

Julius Bergman (2nd) put the puck in the back of the wide open net after Heat goaltender Joni Ortio gave up a rebound to the middle of the crease at 16:51 to put the Barracuda up 3-0.  Twelve seconds later the Heat’s Kenny Agostino (2nd) answered by lighting the lamp on a similar backside rebound goal past goaltender Aaron Dell.

With 20 seconds left in the period Aaron Dell made an amazing diving save to keep the score at 3-1.  Shots were 12-7 in favor of Stockton.

Dell battled through multiple attempts gobbling up almost everything that came his way.  The Barracuda scored their fourth goal at 11:04 after Barclay Goodrow (5th) received a pass from the left circle while he was battling for position in front of the crease, and was able to spin around on his backhand and put the puck past Ortio.

Stockton’s Agostino (3rd) fired home his second goal of the night after finding the puck on the back door off of the rebound cutting the Barracuda lead down to two goals.

The Barracuda were shorthanded twice in the period but were able to kill off the Heats power play attempts.  The Barracuda took a 4-2 leading heading into the second intermission as shots were 25 to 15 in favor of Stockton.

The Heat picked up their play in the third period outshooting the Barracuda 21- 3.  Just after the 12 minute mark there was a flurry of penalties all within 10 seconds of each other giving the Heat a 4 on 3 the power play opportunity.  The Barracuda laid their bodies on the line blocking multiple shots eventually killing off the penalty.

At 16:23 Aaron Johnson (1st) fired a bomb from the point that beat Dell top shelf glove side on the power play, cutting the Barracuda lead down to one goal.
