BARRACUDA CLAWED BY CONDORS, 5-1

San Jose, CA - The San Jose Barracuda (13-16-0-1) gave up three goals in the first period and could never recover, falling 5-1 to the Bakersfield Condors (11-15-1-0) on Tuesday night at Tech CU Arena. With the loss, the Barracuda have now dropped a season-high six games in a row.

In the first, while on its second power play, the Condors would draw first blood as Carter Savoie (4) would one-time a shot past Strauss Mann from the right wing. Then, on Bakersfield’s ensuing shot, Seth Griffith (7) would weave his way into the slot and go upstairs to make it 2-0 at 15:03. The Condors would complete the three-goal first with two seconds left in the period as Michael Kesselring (9) would carry the puck down the left wing and snap a shot in on the glove-side during four-on-four play.

46 seconds into the second, Thomas Bordeleau (14) would cut the lead back down to two with with a one-timer on the power play, but Griffith (8) would score again at 10:21 with a slow backhander from in-tight. At 13:25, Raphael Lavoie (4) would make it 5-1 on the power play, cleaning up his own blocked shot.

The Barracuda would outshoot the Condors 37-28 in the game and 15-10 in the third but no more goals were scored and the Condors would roll to the 5-1 win.

Mann (3-3-0) suffered the loss, giving up five goals on 28 shots, while Olivier Rodrigue (7-9-0) would earn the win, making 36 stops.
