Sharks Reassign Marcus Sorensen & Tim Heed

SAN JOSE, Calif. - San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has reassigned Forward Marcus Sorensen (@sorensenmarcus) and Defenseman Tim Heed to the San Jose Barracuda (@sjbarracuda), the team's top development affiliate in the American Hockey League (@TheAHL).

Sorensen, 25, has posted three goals, five penalty minutes and ten shots on goal in 18 games with the Sharks this season, and has added 18 points (seven goals, 11 assists) in 22 AHL games with the Barracuda. 

The five-foot-ten, 175-pound native of Sodertalje, Sweden was originally drafted in the fourth round (106th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft by the Ottawa Senators. He was signed as a free agent by San Jose on May 13, 2016. 

The 27-year-old Heed has recorded three goals, eight assists and 50 shots on goal in 27 NHL games with the Sharks this season. In 2016-17 he was named to the AHL's Second All-Star Team after ranking 3rd amongst all AHL blueliners in assists. 

The six-foot, 185-pound native of Goteborg, Sweden, was originally drafted in the fifth round (132nd overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft by the Anaheim Ducks. He was signed as a free agent by San Jose on May 24, 2016.
