SAN JOSE, Calif. (Nov. 1, 2026) – For the second time this season, Roland McKeown delivered the overtime winner as the San Jose Barracuda (4-6-0-0) snapped a two-game losing streak with a 3-2 victory over the Bakersfield Condors (3-5-1-0) on Sunday afternoon at Tech CU Arena. Brendan Hoffmann and Luca Cagnoni also scored for San Jose, while Eric Comrie made 18 saves to earn the victory. The Barracuda outshot the Condors 37-20, including 14-6 over the third period and overtime, to secure their third home win of the season.

Bakersfield opened the scoring at 9:12 of the first period when Rhett Pitlick netted his first goal of the season, going upstairs on a rush down the left wing. San Jose answered just over three minutes later as Brendan Hoffmann buried his second goal of the year at 12:40, ripping home a feed from Anthony Vincent from below the right faceoff dot. The Barracuda controlled much of the opening frame, outshooting Bakersfield 12-5, but the teams entered the first intermission tied at one.

The Condors regained the lead early in the second period when Tomáš Cibulka scored his first AHL goal at 3:11, wristing a seeing-eye shot from the point on the power play. San Jose responded at 8:22 as Luca Cagnoni found the back of the net from the right point for his first goal of the season, tying the game at two. Tye Felhaber and Eric Pohlkamp picked up assists on the equalizer.

Neither team found the back of the net in the third period, despite San Jose holding an 11-4 advantage in shots. The Barracuda generated several quality opportunities and had a late power-play chance but couldn't solve Bakersfield netminder Samuel Jonsson, who finished with 34 saves.

In overtime, Comrie came up with a pivotal breakaway save on Seth Griffith at 1:40 to keep the game tied before McKeown ended the contest at 3:14, ripping a shot home from the left wing. The goal marked McKeown's second overtime winner of the season after he also scored the deciding goal in San Jose's 5-4 victory over the San Diego Gulls on Oct. 4. Andre Gasseau and Ethan Cardwell collected assists on the game-winner.

The Barracuda finished 0-for-2 on the power play and 2-for-3 on the penalty kill, while holding Bakersfield to just 20 shots on goal, their lowest total allowed in a game this season. San Jose improved to 3-5-0-0 on home ice and earned its fourth victory of the campaign.
