SAN JOSE, CA - San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) general manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has reassigned center Antti Suomela (@SuomelaAntti) to the San Jose Barracuda (@sjbarracuda), the team's top development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
 
Suomela, 24, opened the 2018-19 season with the San Jose Sharks, making his NHL debut on October 3 vs. Anaheim. He recorded eight points (three goals, five assists) in 27 games played. Last year, he led Finland's top professional league (Liiga) in scoring, recording 60 points (21 goals, 39 assists) and a plus-28 rating (second in the league) in 59 games with JYP. 
 
The six-foot, 180-pound native of Espoo, Finland, was signed by San Jose on June 6, 2018.
