Tonight’s Matchup: On Tuesday, the Barracuda welcome the Tucson Roadrunners to SAP Center for the first time since February 14. San Jose is 2-0-0-0 against Tucson at SAP and 5-0-0-1 in six total matchups. During the season series, San Jose is 9-for-30 (30.0%) on the power play and 26-for-29 (89.7%) on the penalty kill. Ryan Carpenter (3 goals, 4 assists) and Joakim Ryan (2 goals, 5 assists) lead the Barracuda in points (7) against Tucson.

Best of the West: On Saturday, the San Jose Barracuda clinched the John Chick Trophy as Pacific Division Champions after the San Diego Gulls fell 3-1 to Ontario Reign and then on Sunday, San Jose secured the Bud Poile Trophy as Western Conference regular season champs with a 2-1 overtime win over Stockton. San Jose controls its fate in its quest for the Macgregor Kilpatrick Trophy as the AHL’s regular season champion with three games to play.

Not “Baz”: After being named to the first AHL All-Star Team last week, Troy Grosenick collected some more hardware on Monday, earning the Aldege “Baz” Bastien Memorial Award as the AHL’s outstanding goaltender for the 2016-17 season. Grosenick has a record of 30-9-3 in 46 appearances for San Jose this season, ranking second in the league in wins (30), goals-against average (1.98) and save percentage (.930). He is also just the fifth goaltender in AHL history to reach double digits in shutouts in a single season (10) and he put together a scoreless stretch of more than 248 minutes from Nov. 19 to Dec. 18. Grosenick enters the final week of the regular season with a 21-1-1 mark (1.74, .936, 5 SO) in his last 23 decisions – including a 17-0-1 stretch from Jan. 25 to Mar. 18 – leading a second-half surge that has sent the Barracuda to the Pacific Division title and the best record in the Western Conference.

Heed Check: Tim Heed was not selected to this years AHL All-Star Game in Lehigh Valley in late January but was chosen to the second AHL All-Star Team. Among AHL defensemen, Heed is fourth in the AHL in points (55), third in assists (41), T-sixth goals (14), T-fifth in power-play goals (8), T-fifth in game-winning goals (4) and is T-14th overall in the league in points.

Rockin’ Ryan: Joakim Ryan is seventh among AHL defensemen in points (45), T-fourth in assists (38), and is fourth in the AHL in plus/minus (+27). Ryan is riding a franchise long seven-game assist streak.

Dazzling Danny: Last week Danny O’Regan was named to the AHL All-Rookie team, on Saturday he scored his first National Hockey League goal and then turned around and potted his team-leading tenth power-play tally for the Barracuda the following day. Among rookies, O’Regan is first in points (56), fifth in goals (55), second in assists (34), T-first in power-play goals, T-first in game-winning goals (5) and is T-10th overall in the AHL in points.
