Tonight’s Matchup: The San Jose Barracuda and Ontario Reign will continue Pacific-Division jockeying on Saturday night at Citizens Business Bank Arena. After dropping back-to-back games, the Reign have now won two in a row and sit at third in the Pacific-Division with a record of 26-12-8-0 (.652). San Jose is 2-1-0-0 against Ontario at Citizens Business Bank Arena but did lose their last matchup in Ontario on Jan. 21, 7-2, the teams last loss. The Barracuda are 3-2-1-0 versus the Reign this season and 6-8-4 all-time. The Reign hold the second-best home winning percentage in the Pacific at 15-6-2 (.696), only behind San Jose. The Barracuda have won seven in a row away from SAP Center and have the second-best road winning percentage at 13-7-02 (.936).

Best of the West: For the first time in team history, the San Jose Barracuda sit atop the Pacific Division and Western Conference. San Jose is riding a franchise-long 10-game winning streak and is second in the AHL at 29-11-1-3 (.705). Before this streak, the longest winning streak (2004-present) by a Sharks affiliate came in the 2014-15 season when the Worcester Sharks won eight in a row from January 4-21, 2014. Ten games is the longest winning streak in the AHL this season.

Dazzling Danny: Among rookies, Barracuda All-Star forward Danny O’Regan is T-first in points (14+28=42), first in assists, 10th in goals, and T-10th overall in the AHL in points. O'Regan is first on the Barracuda in points, T-second in goals and second in assists.

Oh Boy Troy: Barracuda All-Star netminder Troy Grosenick is riding a career high eight-game winning streak and is first in the AHL in shutouts (6), first in goals-against average (2.01), first in save percentage (.933) and fifth in wins (17).

Timmy Time: Barracuda blueliner Tim Heed is T-first among defenseman in the AHL in points (11+28=39), fourth in goals, first in assists, T-second in power play goals (7), and T-first in game-winning goals. Heed is riding a six-game point streak (2+6=8) and is second on the Barracuda in points, T-fifth goals, first in power play goals (7) and T-first in game-winning goals.

San Jose’s Last Time Out: The San Jose Barracuda jumped out to a 3-0 first-period lead on Friday in Stockton but had to sweat out their 10th win of the year, 5-4, at Stockton Arena. Nikita Jevpalovs (9, 10) scored a pair of goals, and Patrick McNally (3) and Timo Meier (10) tallied on the power play while Joakim Ryan (7) netted the game-winner late in the second. Mantas Armalis earned his 12th win of the year after making 26 saves.

Ontario’s Last Time Out: The Ontario Reign allowed the first goal of the game on Friday against the Tucson Roadrunners but surged back with four unanswered to top the ‘Runners, 4-1, at Citizens Business Bank Arena. Jack Campbell earned his league-leading 23rd win after making 36 saves on 37 shots and collected an assist on Cameron Shilling’s empty-netter. Mike Amadio (10), Brett Sutter (11) and Jonny Brodzinski (20) also scored in the win.
