Look Back:
The San Jose Barracuda (0-1-0-0, 0pts) chomped zero out of a possible two points last week (0-1-0-0) to kick off the 2015-16 AHL regular season schedule with a 4-2 loss to the Rockford IceHogs in front of 6,977 fans at the SAP Center on Oct 9.

Micheal Haley scored the first goal in franchise history at 19:47 of the first period on the power play while Troy Grosenick made 37 saves in net in the loss. Captain Bryan Lerg also scored for the Barracuda while Nikita Jevpalovs picked up an assist in his first professional game.

The San Jose Barracuda player of the week nominee is veteran forward Micheal Haley. The 29-year-old from Guelph, Ontario scored the first goal in franchise history and added an assist in the Barracuda’s 4-2 loss to Rockford on Oct 9.

On Thursday, the Barracuda travel to Stockton, CA to play the Heat at 7pm.  The Heat are the AHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames and are coming off a 7-0 win over the Rockford IceHogs on Oct 10. Coverage begins at 6:30pm on AM 1220 KDOW.

On Saturday, the Barracuda battle the Condors in Bakersfield, CA at 7pm.  The Condors are the AHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers and currently have a 1-1-0-0 record this season.  Coverage begins at 7pm on AM 1220 KDOW.

MILESTONE ALERT:
Head Coach Roy Sommer surpassed Frank Mathers (1256 games coached) for the most games coached in AHL history on March 26, 2014 in the Sharks 5-3 win in Lewiston, ME over the Portland Pirates. Coach Sommer has coached 1345 AHL games – all with the SJ Sharks AHL affiliates. In total, Coach Sommer has been a head coach in 1,681 games in the AHL and ECHL.  Coach Sommer picked up his 600th career AHL win in a 4-3 victory in Lehigh Valley on Feb 4, 2015 and surpassed Frank Mathers (610 wins) for 2nd all-time in AHL history on March 27 in Springfield with his 611th win!  Roy needs 19 wins to tie Fred “Bun Cook” (636 wins) for the most wins in AHL history!

Rookie Tanner Kero (2-1-3) led the way offensively for Rockford and goaltender Micheal Leighton made 30 saves in net for the victory.
