Sharks Recall Ryan Carpenter, Nikolay Goldobin, Barclay Goodrow, Mirco Mueller, and Aaron Dell From The San Jose Barracuda
May 1, 2016SAN JOSE - San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has recalled forwards Ryan Carpenter (@CarpyDeuces), Nikolay Goldobin (@goldobin78), Barclay Goodrow (@bgoodrow23), defenseman Mirco Mueller (@muellermirco) and goaltender Aaron Dell (@ADell32) from the San Jose Barracuda (@sjbarracuda) of the American Hockey League (@theAHL).
Carpenter, 24, led the Barracuda in points (55) and assists (37) in 66 AHL games this season. His plus-20 rating led all Barracuda players (T-15th in the league) in his second full professional campaign, and his 37 helpers ranked T-18th in the AHL. In four postseason games with the Barracuda, Carpenter registered one goal, one assist and a plus-3 rating. He made his NHL debut on Dec. 12 vs. Minnesota.
A six-foot, 195-pound native of Oviedo, Florida, Carpenter was signed by San Jose as an undrafted free agent on March 26, 2014.
The 20-year-old Goldobin posted 21 goals and 23 assists in 60 games with the Barracuda this season, and registered a goal and an assist in nine NHL games with the Sharks. In four postseason games, Goldobin led the Barracuda in goals (two) and shots on goal (nine).
A five-foot-eleven, 185-pound native of Moscow, Russia, Goldobin was originally drafted by San Jose in the first round (27th overall) of the 2014 NHL Draft.
Goodrow, 22, recorded three assists in 14 games with the Sharks, and posted 20 goals and 19 assists in 57 games with the Barracuda this season. He was named the AHL's Player of the Week for the week ending Dec. 6, posting four goals and three assists in just two games for the Barracuda that week. Named an AHL All-Star, Goodrow recorded an assist and plus-2 rating in four Calder Cup playoff games.
A six-foot-two, 215-pound native of Toronto, Ontario, Goodrow was signed by San Jose as a free agent on March 6, 2014.
Mueller, 20, posted one goal, 10 assists and a plus-7 rating in 50 games with the Barracuda this season. He has appeared in 11 games with the Sharks, recording eight shots on goal. He recorded two shots on goal in four postseason games for the Barracuda.
A six-foot-three, 210-pound native of Winterthur, Switzerland, Mueller was originally drafted by San Jose in the first round (18th overall) of the 2013 NHL Draft.
Dell appeared in 40 games with the Barracuda this season, posting a 17-16-5 record with a 2.42 goals-against average and a .922 save percentage. He played in four 2016 Calder Cup playoff games, registering a 1-3-0 record, a 2.59 goals-against average and a .932 save percentage.
The six-foot, 210-pound native of Airdrie, Alberta, was originally signed as a free agent by San Jose on March 4, 2015.
