SHARKS ASSIGN DEFENSEMAN DALTON PROUT TO SAN JOSE BARRACUDA ON A CONDITIONING ASSIGNMENT
Nov 10, 2019SAN JOSE, CA - San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) general manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has assigned defenseman Dalton Prout (@prouter5) on a conditioning assignment to the San Jose Barracuda (@sjbarracuda), the team's top development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Prout, 29, made his Sharks debut on Oct. 2 vs. Vegas and recorded one shot on goal in 16:05 of ice time. He has played in 263 career NHL games with the Columbus Blue Jackets (224 games), New Jersey Devils (18 games), Calgary Flames (20 games) and San Jose Sharks (one game). Prout has registered seven goals, 31 assists, 314 penalty minutes, and 549 hits.
The six-foot-three, 215-pound native of Kingsville, Ontario was drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the sixth round of the 2010 NHL Draft (154th overall). He was signed by San Jose as a free agent on July 1, 2019.
