Henderson for the Holidays: The Barracuda continue their three-game road trip on Sunday afternoon in Henderson as they go for the road season sweep of the Silver Knights. The Barracuda improved to 3-0 versus Henderson on Saturday at the Lee’s Family Forum, collecting a 5-2 win. In all three wins against the Golden Knights affiliate, the Barracuda have reached five goals and have not trailed at any point. Sunday is the continuation of a nine-game stretch in which the Barracuda will play eight of nine away from home.
Saturday Sunshine: Andrew Poturalski and Lucas Carlsson each scored twice as the Barracuda improved to 3-0 against the Silver Knights with a 5-2 win on Saturday afternoon at the Lee’s Family Forum. The Barracuda finished the game by going two-for-four on the power play and seven-for-seven on the penalty kill, outshooting the Knights 43-24. Ethan Cardwell finished with a career-high three assists and Georgi Romanov picked up his first win in four attempts versus the Knights.
Sparkling Special Teams: The Barracuda went two-for-four on the power play and seven-for-seven on the penalty kill on Saturday and have now scored multiple power-play goals in eight games this season. San Jose enters Sunday ranked second in the AHL on the power play (23.2%) and penalty kill (88.1%) and third in shorthanded goals (5). Against Henderson in three games, the Cuda are three-for-14 (21.4%) on the PP and 14-for-15 (93.3%) on the PK.
Great Graf: Among rookies, Barracuda forward Collin Graf ranks T-third in the AHL in scoring (25) and first in assists (20). In three games against the Silver Knights, the 22-year-old has six assists and a plus-three rating. Graf is T-third in the league in helpers having picked up assists in three of his last four games.
Hot Pot: Andrew Poturalksi skated in his 500th pro game on Friday in Bakersfield and is now just four games shy of 500 in the AHL. The veteran forward scored twice on Saturday and now has nine points (3+6=9) in his last five games. This season he has four goals in three games against Henderson and 15 points (8+7=15) in 20 career games versus the Knights. Poturalski is T-fourth in the AHL in scoring (30), T-seventh in goals (12), and T-fourth in power-play goals (5).
High Card: Ethan Cardwell notched a career-high three assists on Saturday and now has 10 apples in his last seven games since being assigned back to the AHL from the Sharks. Cardwell is T-seventh in the AHL in assists and is second on the Barracuda in points-per-game (.90).
Lucas Lightning: Lucas Carlsson notched a pair of power-play goals on Saturday and now ranks T-fifth in the league in power-play tallies (4) and T-second among defensemen. The veteran defender as already surpassed his power-play totals from a year ago in 38 fewer games.
Do the Cagn Cagn: Rookie defenseman Luca Cagnoni ranks T-third among AHL defenders in points (22), T-second in goals (8), T-sixth in helpers (14), T-second in power-play goals (4), second in power-play assists (9), and second in power-play points (13).
Cuda Killer: Vegas native Gage Quinney has 30 points (13+17=30) in 26 career games versus the Barracuda. Dating back to the 2022-23 campaign, he has points in 10 of 12 (4+10=14) against SJ. Gage’s dad, Ken, played five seasons for the IHL’s Las Vegas Thunder from 1993-1998.
