Henderson for the Holidays: The Barracuda return from the Christmas break on Saturday in Henderson as they drop the puck on back-to-back games at the Lee’s Family Forum. The Barracuda are 2-0 versus the Golden Knights’ affiliate this year after a pair of wins in Henderson on Oct. 23 (5-2 W) and 25 (5-3 W). Saturday begins a three-game road trip for the Barracuda and a continuation of eight of nine away from home.

Before the Break: The Barracuda dropped back-to-back games versus the Bakersfield Condors before the AHL’s Christmas break, the first time they’ve lost consecutive games against the same team since the Iowa Wild handed the Barracuda a pair of losses at the Wells Fargo Arena on Nov. 2 (1-4 L) and Nov. 3 (2-5 L). In their last outing, on Dec. 21 at Tech CU Arena, the Barracuda spotted the Condors four goals before Filip Bystedt scored the final two tallies of the game. Collin Delia picked up the win by making 36 saves while Aaron Dell lost in his Barracuda season debut. SJB finished the two games 0-for-8 on the power play and 1-for-3 on the penalty kill.

Sparkling Special Teams: Before going 0-for-8 in two games versus the Condors, the Barracuda had scored five power-play goals (5/10) in their prior two outings. San Jose enters Saturday ranked third in the AHL on the power play (23%) and second on the penalty (87.3%). Against Henderson in two games the Cuda are 1-for-10 (10%) on the PP and 8-for-9 (87.5%) on the PK.

Great Graf: Among rookies, Barracuda forward Collin Graf ranks T-third in the AHL in scoring (24) and first assists (19). In two games against the Silver Knights, the 22-year-old has five assists and a plus-three rating.

Hot Pot: Andrew Poturalksi skated in his 500th pro game on Friday in Bakersfield and is now just five games shy of 500 in the AHL. The veteran forward collected a season-high four points (1+3=4) last Wednesday in Coachella Valley and now has six assists and a goal in his last four contests. This season he has two goals in two games against Henderson and 13 points (6+7=13) in 19 career games versus the Knights.

Luca Lightning: Rookie defenseman Luca Cagnoni ranks third among AHL defenders in points (22), second in goals (8), T-fourth in helpers (14), T-second in power-play goals (4), second in power-play assists (9), and second in power-play points.

Knight Light: The Silver Knights enter Saturday at the bottom of the AHL (7-20-0-0=14 pts.) and are just 2-10-0-0 this season at home. The Knights are last in goals-against (3.93), third in penalty minutes (15.44), fourth-worst in goals for (2.63), and have the second-worst goal differential (-35). Henderson is coming off its first shutout win of the year, shutting out the first-place Calgary Wranglers on the road 3-0 on Dec. 22.

Cuda Killer: Vegas native Gage Quinney has 30 points (13+17=30) in 25 career games versus the Barracuda. Dating back to the 2022-23 campaign, he has points in 10 of 11 (4+10=14) against SJ. Gage’s dad, Ken, played five seasons for the IHL’s Las Vegas Thunder from 1993-1998.
