Air and Sea: Riding a three-game winning streak, the Barracuda close out their eight-game season series with the San Diego Gulls on Wednesday at the Pechanga Arena. A week ago, at Tech CU Arena, the Barracuda held the Gulls to just 18 shots in a 4-0 win. Gabe Carriere collected the shutout and the Barracuda got goals from Lucas Vanroboys, Danil Gushchin, Ethan Frisch, and Colin White. The Barracuda are 3-2-1-1 versus the Ducks’ top affiliate and 1-2 on the road.

Sunday Funday: The Barracuda completed the weekend sweep of the Bakersfield Condors on Sunday with a 6-3 win, scoring 14 goals in two contests. In the victory, Walker Duehr scored twice, including a shorthanded goal, and the Barracuda also got tallies from Jack Thompson (PP), Danil Gushchin (PP), Pavol Regenda, and Jimmy Schuldt. Gabe Carriere made 33 saves en route to his eighth win of the year.

Powering Up: The Barracuda matched a franchise record on Sunday by extending their power-play goal streak to nine consecutive games (17/43=39%), going two-for-five on the advantage. SJB boasts the league’s top PP unit (25.2%) and top road advantage (25.8%), scoring multiple power-play goals in five of their last six. On the road, The Barracuda have multiple power-play goals in five consecutive (12/29=41%) entering Wednesday. Against the Gulls, the Barracuda are four-for-29 (13.8%), scoring once on three opportunities in the last meeting on Mar. 19.

Hot Pot: Andrew Poturalski scored a natural hat trick in the third period on Saturday, finishing the game with four points, and then added two more assists on Sunday. The nine-year vet is up to 30 goals and 13 power-play goals for the first time in his career and is pacing the league in points (71), T-first in power-play goals, second in assists (41), and third in goals (30). The New Hampshire alum has points in 18 of his last 22 games (15+20=35). The former Gull has six points (1+5=6) in seven games against San Diego this season.

Dan the Man: Danil Gushchin extended his points streak and goals streak to a career-long seven and four games respectively. During the seven contests, he has 12 points (6+6=12) over that span. The third-year pro ranks second in the league in power-play goals and is up to a career-best 25 goals, which is T-seventh in the league. Over his last 12 games, Gushchin has 11 goals and nine assists. Gushchin was named this week's Howies Hockey Tape/AHL Player of the week after aft collecting seven points (4+3=7) in three games.

Carriere Clog: Since Yaroslav Askarov’s injury on Feb. 19, Gabe Carriere has started nine of the Barracuda’s last 13 games, going 5-2-2 over that stretch with a 2.43 goals-against average, a .919 save percentage, and two shutouts. The Sharks signed the 24-year-old to an NHL contract for the remainder of the season on Mar. 7. He is in his first year out of the University of Vermont.

Walk the Talk: After missing three games as he and his wife welcomed the birth of their first child, Walker Duehr returned to the lineup this past weekend and scored three times, including a pair on Sunday.
