Frank Torres, VP of Barracuda Business Operations: 1985-2024
Jan 16, 2024San Jose, Calif.: – It is with extreme sadness that Sharks Sports & Entertainment and the San Jose Barracuda announces the loss of our friend and colleague Frank Torres, vice president of Barracuda business operations, who passed away suddenly on Jan. 15 after a brief illness.
An integral part of Team Teal, Frank oversaw all aspects of the Barracuda’s business operations, including ticket sales, corporate partnerships, marketing, communications and fan relations.
His passion, dedication and positive attitude touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him.
Since joining the organization in 2022, Frank was an integral part of the opening of Tech CU Arena and ensuring the upcoming 2024 AHL All-Star Classic in San Jose was a success. In many ways, bringing this marquee event to San Jose serves as a league-wide symbol of a revitalized San Jose Barracuda organization, of which Frank took great pride in.
Prior to joining Team Teal, Frank played a key role in the record-setting launch of the Coachella Valley Firebirds and the opening of Acrisure Arena. Prior to that, he was part of the San Antonio Rampage leadership team that captured multiple AHL sales and marketing awards, including the 2019 “unique ticket sales promotion or theme night” with Los Chimuelos de San Antonio, a promotion honoring and recognizing Mexican heritage and culture. Not surprisingly, he was the force behind the creation of the Barracuda’s Tigres del Mar celebration.
