Brendan Hoffmann and Donavan Houle also scored for San Jose, which earned its second consecutive overtime victory. The Barracuda have now won back-to-back games for the second time this season, while handing Ontario its fifth consecutive defeat.
Ontario opened the scoring at 10:23 of the first period when Taylor Ward found the back of the net, with assists from Cole Guttman and Jack Hughes, giving the Reign a 1-0 advantage heading into the first intermission.
San Jose answered early in the second period as Hoffmann scored his third goal of the season at 2:26, burying a backhand feed from Carson Wetsch to even the score at 1-1. Ontario regained the lead at 11:36 when Kaleb Lawrence drove to the net and jammed home his second goal of the year, just seconds after exiting the penalty box. The Barracuda responded once again at 17:46 as Houle found the back of the net from the slot, sending the teams into the second intermission tied at 2-2.
Neither team could break the deadlock in the third period, forcing overtime for the second consecutive game for San Jose. The extra session lasted just 17 seconds as Alex Barré-Boulet slid a pass to Lund, who crashed the net and buried the game-winner to complete the comeback and give the Barracuda their third overtime victory of the season.
