BAK TO WORK: The Barracuda return to Tech CU Arena on Friday and Saturday for a two-game weekend series against the Bakersfield Condors (Edmonton Oilers), marking the second and third meetings between the clubs in a four-game span. San Jose (5-6-0-0) enters the weekend riding a two-game winning streak after earning a 3-2 overtime victory over the Ontario Reign on Wednesday night at Toyota Arena. Both wins during the streak have come in overtime, including Sunday's 3-2 triumph over Bakersfield at Tech CU Arena. Dating back to the 2024-25 season, the Barracuda have won six consecutive home games against the Condors.

LUND DELIVERS: Cam Lund scored just 17 seconds into overtime as the Barracuda rallied twice to defeat the Ontario Reign, 3-2, on Wednesday night at Toyota Arena. Ontario opened the scoring midway through the first period on a goal from Taylor Ward before Brendan Hoffmann tied the game early in the second with his third of the season and second in as many games. Kaleb Lawrence restored Ontario's lead at 11:36 of the middle frame, but Donavan Houle, on his 27th birthday, answered to pull San Jose even. Lund then wasted little time in overtime, netting the winner to give the Barracuda their second consecutive victory. The win also handed Ontario its fifth consecutive defeat. For Lund, who missed the final two month of last season with injury and the first three weeks this season, it was his first goal since Jan. 31 of last season.

McKEOWN MAGIC: For the second time this season, defenseman Roland McKeown delivered the overtime winner as the Barracuda edged the Bakersfield Condors, 3-2, on Sunday afternoon at Tech CU Arena. Bakersfield opened the scoring midway through the first period before Brendan Hoffmann tied the game with his second goal of the season. After the Condors regained the lead on a second-period power-play goal, Luca Cagnoni netted his first AHL goal to draw San Jose even. McKeown sealed the victory just 1:28 into overtime, while Eric Comrie made 18 saves. San Jose outshot Bakersfield 37-20, including 14-6 over the third period and overtime.

POLE RAISING: On Tuesday, the Sharks recalled rookie defenseman Eric Pohlkamp from the Barracuda for the first time in his professional career. He made his NHL debut on Wednesday in LA. The 22-year-old has recorded seven assists in 10 games this season, collecting at least one point in seven contests. At the time of his recall, Pohlkamp was tied for second among all AHL rookies in assists and fourth in points among rookie defensemen, while his seven helpers were tied for the Barracuda team lead. A fifth-round pick (132nd overall) by San Jose in 2023, Pohlkamp is coming off a standout season at the University of Denver, where he led all NCAA defensemen in goals (18) and points (39), helped the Pioneers capture the national championship and was named a top-three finalist for the Hobey Baker Award.
