SHARKS RECALL SORENSEN AND MUELLER FROM THE BARRACUDA

SAN JOSE - San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has recalled forward Marcus Sorensen (@SorensenMarcus) and defenseman Mirco Mueller (@MuellerMirco) from the San Jose Barracuda (@sjbarracuda), the team's top development affiliate in the American Hockey League (@TheAHL).  

Sorensen is currently 4th on the Barracuda in points with 29 (14 goals, 15 assists) in 40 games.  He ranks tied for second in goals and his plus-15 is second on the team. 
 
Sorensen tallied his first NHL point (assist) in his first NHL game on February 7 at Buffalo. 
 
The five-foot-ten, 175-pound native of Sodertalje, Sweden was originally drafted in the fourth round (106th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft by the Ottawa Senators. He was signed as a free agent by San Jose on May 13, 2016.
 
Mueller, 21, ranks 4th among defensemen on the Barracuda in assists (12) and in points (13), in 39 games this season.  In 101 career AHL games, he has 27 points (3 goals, 24 assists). 
 
Mueller has played in four games for the Sharks this season, collecting a goal and an assist while earning a plus-2 rating.
 
In 54 NHL games, Mueller has tallied two goals and four assists.  He made his NHL debut on October 8, 2014 at Los Angeles.
 
The six-foot-three, 210-pound native of Winterthur, Switzerland, was originally selected by San Jose in the first round (18th overall) of the 2013 NHL Draft.
