SHARKS RECALL FEHR, REASSIGN BALCERS

SAN JOSE, CA - San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has recalled Forward Eric Fehr (FAIR) (@EricFehr) and reassigned Forward Rudolfs Balcers (@rudolfsbalcers) to the San Jose Barracuda (@sjbarracuda), the team's top development affiliate in the American Hockey League (@TheAHL).
Fehr, 32, has recorded 28 points (17 goals, 11 assists), a plus-6 rating and 33 penalty minutes in 34 games with San Diego of the American Hockey League (AHL), leading the team in goals and ranking tied for fourth in points. He has added two penalty minutes in four NHL games with Toronto this season.
In 566 career NHL games with Washington, Winnipeg, Pittsburgh and Toronto, Fehr has compiled 202 points (103 goals, 99 assists), a plus-50 rating and 187 penalty minutes. He has posted 129 career points (67 goals, 62 assists) and 170 penalty minutes in 155 AHL games between San Diego and Hershey.
The six-foot-four, 208-pound native of Winkler, Manitoba, was originally drafted by Washington in the first round (18th overall) of the 2003 NHL Draft. He was acquired by San Jose from Toronto on Feb. 20, 2018.
Balcers, playing in his first season of professional hockey, is the Barracuda's leading scorer with 33 points (14 goals, 19 assists) in 47 games. The 20-year-old was selected to represent the Barracuda at the 2018 AHL All-Star Classic.
The five-foot-eleven, 175-pound native of Liepaja, Latvia was selected by San Jose in the fifth round (142nd overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft.
