Sharks Reassign Lerg, McCarthy, and Mueller
Oct 26, 2015SAN JOSE - San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has reassigned forwards Bryan Lerg (@blerg11), John McCarthy and defenseman Mirco Mueller (@muellermirco) to the San Jose Barracuda (AHL, @sjbarracuda).
Lerg, 29, played in three games with the Sharks this season, and has posted three goals and four points in four games with the Barracuda this season.
A five-foot-ten, 175-pound native of Livonia, Michigan, Lerg was signed as a free agent by San Jose on July 10, 2014.
The 29-year-old McCarthy has appeared in five games with the Barracuda this season, and one with the Sharks. He has recorded three goals, three assists and 22 penalty minutes in 88 career NHL games with the Sharks.
A six-foot-one, 195-pound native of Boston, Massachusetts, McCarthy was originally drafted by San Jose in the 2006 NHL Draft (7th round, 202nd overall). He was signed by San Jose as a free agent on July 2, 2015.
Mueller, 20, has posted one assist and a plus-1 rating in three games with the Barracuda this season. He has appeared in one game with the Sharks in 2015-16.
A six-foot-three, 210-pound native of Winterthur, Switzerland, Mueller was originally drafted by San Jose in the first round (18th overall) of the 2013 NHL Draft.
