Sharks Re-Sign Forward Micheal Haley
Jul 2, 2015SAN JOSE - San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has signed forward Micheal Haley to a one-year contract.
Haley, 29, collected 31 points (18-13=31) in 68 games with the Worcester Sharks last season, serving as an alternate captain for the team. In addition to being the Worcester Sharks 3 Stars Award winner, Haley led Worcester in goals (18), fighting majors (10), penalty minutes (106), and power-play goals (8).
The forward has recorded 145 points (75 goals, 70 assists) and 1,046 penalty minutes in 437 career AHL games with Hartford, Connecticut, Bridgeport, and Worcester, and has added two goals, one assist and 174 penalty minutes in 56 career NHL games with the New York Rangers, New York Islanders, and San Jose Sharks.
The five-foot-ten. 205-pound native of Guelph, Ontario, was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the New York Islanders on May 19, 2008. He was signed by San Jose as a free agent on July 10, 2014.
