Tuesday Tussle: The Barracuda drop the puck on their final homestand of the season beginning on Tuesday against the Bakersfield Condors (Edmonton Oilers). Tuesday’s game marks the ninth on the 10-game season series against the Condors and the 61st all-time meeting. The Barracuda are 2-3-2-1 against Bakersfield in 2021 and 2-0-1-0 this season at home against the Condors. The Barracuda and Condors will wrap up their season series next Monday at Solar4America Ice at San Jose.

Blichfeld Back-Up: The Sharks recalled Joachim Blichfeld on Friday, his second recall this season. On Saturday he scored his first NHL goal in a 6-3 loss to the Minnesota Wild. Before the call, the sophomore forward was pacing the Barracuda in goals (12), points (22), shots (118, 1st in the AHL), and was tied for first in power-play goals (2). The Barracuda went 2-1-1-0 from March 3 thru March 9 when Blichfeld was last up with the Sharks.

Rookies Rising: On Sunday, rookies Scott Reedy (1+2=3) and Jake McGrew (1+2=3) each recorded the first three-point game of their career. Reedy, who finished up his senior season at Minnesota in early April, now has six points (3+3=6) over his last six games. McGrew had not played the two games prior but doubled his season point totals after Sunday.

Halbs Heating Up: Barracuda forward Jayden Halbgewachs missed nine games with an injury before returning to San Jose’s lineup on Wednesday and now has three points in his last two games. Halbgewachs snapped a nine-game goalless drought with his goal on Sunday and now has assists in consecutive games after not recording an assist in his first 17 games. A year ago, he led the Barracuda with 19 goals.

Top of their class: Condors’ forwards Cooper Marody (18+13=31) and Tyler Benson (10+21=31) ranked T-second in the AHL in scoring entering Tuesday. Marody is first in the league in goals, hat-tricks (2), and second in plus/minus (+22) while Benson ranks tied for second in assists and third in plus/minus (+21).
