Barracuda vs. San Diego Gulls Preview

The San Jose Barracuda, (2-1-0, 4pts)* square off with the San Diego Gulls (2-0-0, 4 pts)*, the AHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks, in the first of two consecutive games at SAP Center tomorrow night at 7:30 pm.
Barracuda to watch:
24 year old Ryan Carpenter, enters his 2nd professional season with the Barracuda. Through three games he currently leads the team with 3 assists, and 8 shots on goal. During the 2014-15 season he played in his first full professional season with Worcester, ranking 2nd on the team in games played (74), T-3rd in plus/minus (+10), T-4th in points (34) and 5th in assists (22).
Gulls to watch:
Anaheim’s 2014 fist round draft pick (10th overall), Nick Ritchie has started hot in his professional debut with the Gulls scoring 3 goals and 1 assist in his first two games. He split time during his fourth OHL season between Peterborough and Sault Ste. Marie and combined for 29-33-62 points with a +1 rating and 113 PIM in 48 games. Ritchie posted a season-high 10-game point streak 4-9-13 from Jan. 30 - Feb. 18 and added 13-13-26 points in Sault Ste. Marie’s playoff campaign (14 games).
The Canadian centerman Mike Sgarbossa joined the Anaheim organization before last seasons trade deadline. He spent the majority of the season with Lake Erie (AHL) collecting 4-19-23 points in 40 contests. In his rookie season he was selected to play in the 2013 AHL All-Star Classic and finished the season (2012-13) with 19-25-44 points in 57 games.
