Today:
The San Jose Barracuda and the Bakersfield Condors (AHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers) meet for the 6th of 12 meetings this season, the 3rd of six meetings at the SAP Center.  The Barracuda are 3-1-0-1 vs. the Condors this season and are 3-1-0-1 in five career matchups. San Jose rides a season high nine game point streak into today’s game (7-0-2-0) and currently sit in 2nd place in the Pacific Division.  The Condors have won just two of their last six games overall (2-3-0-1) and currently sit in 4th place in the Pacific Division. With 635 wins, Barracuda head coach Roy Sommer looks to tie Fred “Bun” Cook (636 wins) for the most wins in the 80 year history of the AHL today.

In case you missed it…
The San Jose Barracuda (18-10-4-3, 43pts) presented by Barracuda Networks extended their season best point streak to nine games (7-0-2-0) but dropped a 2-1 overtime decision to the host Iowa Wild (10-25-2-3, 25pts) in front of 12,455 fans at the Wells Fargo Arena on Saturday evening. Goaltender Aaron Dell (6-6-4) made 45 saves and Trevor Parkes scored the only goal as San Jose is now to 9-1-4-0 in their last 14 games.  Jordan Schroeder tied the game in the third period for the Wild and Gustav Olofson won the game in overtime as Leland Irving made 25 saves in net for the home win. The Barracuda finished with a 2-0-1-0 on their three game road trip. 

Andrew Miller (1-1-2) and Jordan Oesterle (0-2-2) each had two point games for Bakersfield in the Condors 4-2 win in Ontario on Saturday night.  Laurent Brossoit made 29 saves in net as Tyler Pitlick, Joshua Winquist, and Rob Klinkhammer also scored for Bakersfield.

Barracuda Bites…
*Recent transactions…Forward Raffi Torres was loaned to the Barracuda on a conditioning assignment from the Sharks on Jan 14 and skated in two games for the Barracuda this past weekend.  Torres is not expected in the lineup this afternoon for the Barracuda.  Earlier today, the Barracuda released forward Greger Hanson from his PTO contract and was returned to Allen (ECHL).
