BARRACUDA RECALL FORWARD ALEX SCHOENBORN

San Jose, CA - The San Jose Barracuda (@sjbarracuda), presented by Barracuda Networks (@barracuda), and General Manager Joe Will announced today that the club has recalled forward Alex Schoenborn (@aschoenborn22) from the Allen Americans (@AllenAmericans), the team's ECHL affiliate (@ECHL).
The 21-year-old forward from Minot, North Dakota, was originally drafted by the San Jose Sharks in the third round (#72 overall) of the 2014 NHL draft. In 25 games played for the Barracuda this season, Schoenborn recorded four points (1+3=4), 17 penalty minutes and a minus-one rating. The 6-foot-1, 196-pound winger appeared in six games for the Americans during his reassignment and scored two goals, collected seven penalty minutes and a plus-three rating.
Prior to the 2016-17 season, Schoenborn played in 208 games in the Western Hockey League (WHL) for the Portland Winterhawks over a four-year span totaling 128 points (61+67=128), 228 penalty minutes and a plus-six rating.
